Ryan Kane / independent designer + builder

Built for the business. Not for a template.

I design and ship websites, storefronts, funnels, and working tools for owner-led businesses.

Selected work / live now

The work has to do something.

Every screen below was captured from the live site. Four businesses, four different jobs: keep a calendar current, move products, fill a chair, and turn custom cakes into real enquiries.

Val's Lesbian BarLive site + client-owned operations

What is on tonight, what is on the menu, and what the staff needs next.

The public site turns real event posters into a rolling events rail, shared details, ticket links, and a three-month calendar. Behind it, Val's has a private staff workspace for drafts, confirmations, publishing, recovery, media, bookings, mailing records, and analytics.

Private staff workspace

93 imported records. Five queues. One publishing path.

Owner-sheet rows come in without automatically reaching the public calendar. Staff can find missing information, hold or reject a row, review live events, publish only what is ready, and recover earlier versions without touching the code.

A storefront with an operation behind it.

The live shop ties the current catalog, product media, pricing, cart, delivery rules, customer accounts, inventory truth, order desk, owner controls, and campaign work into one system.

Customer account + private staff back office

The sale keeps moving after checkout.

Customers can see earned points, order activity, and progress toward a reward. On the staff side, paid orders land in the inbox, codes are redeemed at the counter, courtesy items stay on the record, driver tips remain attributable, and each driver run has a working handoff.

The front end is only the part people see.

I also build the publishing, intake, checkout, owner controls, and handoff that make the site useful after launch.

Owner control

Client-owned content desks

Products, menus, media, enquiries, publish history, and restore paths without handing the business another mystery vendor.

Lead systems

Quizzes that collect the right facts

Short, treatment-specific or service-specific intake with consent, attribution, and a clear staff handoff.

Commerce

Checkout tied to real operations

Inventory, delivery rules, fulfillment state, customer accounts, staff actions, and the edge cases between them.

Private tools

Working prototypes before the big bet

Enough real interaction, records, exports, and failure states to learn what the full product actually needs.

Clear starting points.

Flat rates, half up front and the balance on launch. The final scope lives in the contract, not in a surprise invoice.

RKane mark

One person, accountable for the whole thing.

I am Ryan Kane. I have been teaching myself design and building on the web since I was 16. Today I work directly with business owners, from the first rough idea through launch and the unglamorous parts after it.

No account manager. No handoff to a mystery developer. If something is not ready, I will say so.

Tell me the business and what the site needs to do.
